Let’s weld the world: first “WeldArt World Championship associated with IIW” to start in 2025 – Finals at USE 2027 in Düsseldorf
Loud, creative and global. Ready for an event that moves the art of welding into the limelight, promotes new talent and leads skilled crafts into the future with creative power and international appeal?
Holding the WeldArt World Championship powered by IIW (International Institute of Welding), the world’s first international contest for creative welding will start at “USR – Urban Steel Rockstars – The 1st Pioneering Welding & Cutting Convention” in Frankfurt with its Championship Tour from 12 to 13 November 2025.
The finals will be staged live from 20 to 23 April 2027 at USE – The Ultimate World of Cutting and Welding – Urban Steel Expo in Düsseldorf.
A movement that sends a strong signal
The WeldArt World Championship addresses contestants from six regions of the world – from North America to Southeast Asia. It is both a stage, message and movement: creativity, technical skills, design, realisation & safety will be rated. Global attention is garnered by interactive formats such as fan and jury voting, live streams and Social Media campaigns. Next to the IIW, industry partners and digital welding communities support the project.
Messe Düsseldorf offers the matching platform for the spectacular finals with its new trade fair USE – The Ultimate World of Cutting and Welding – Urban Steel Expo 2027.
WeldArt: technology meets creativity
WeldArt is the artistic form of welding – where technology and creativity fuse and heat, precision and metal join to bring about truly one-off pieces: sculptures, installations and design objects. The focus here is on art with character – a far cry from mechanical engineering.
Championship Tour and participation
The WeldArt World Championship starts at Urban Steel Rockstars in Frankfurt on 12 and 13 November 2025. The finals will be held at USE in Düsseldorf from 20 to 23 April 2027. Amongst others an international jury comprising world-renowned welding experts and high-reach content creators will decide together with several million followers as well as figures from TV shows on who reaches the finals.
Participation is open to everyone – from trainees to experienced welders to creative minds from all over the world.
