Smart Vision: Solving complex inspection tasks more easily with Baumer profile sensors
With the smart 2D profile sensors of the OX series, Baumer has established a new sensor class in quality inspection and positioning solutions. Thanks to the advanced toolset, inspection tasks that used to be diffi-cult to solve can now be realized in a cost-efficient smart vision solution. To users, it means easier and more reliable solutions of tasks such as presence detection, completeness checks or quality inspection using smart profile sensors.
The revised and upgraded sensors of the OX take on the complex tasks that previously often only high-quality camera systems or multi-sensor solutions could do. For example, these sensors detect gaps, missing objects and identify faulty parts. Measuring ranges up to 500 mm with fields of view up to 300 mm open up further potential in system design.

How do the smart 2D profile sensors work?
The OX sensors analyze height profiles using the integrated, advanced toolset for solving in a cost-efficient way a wide range of demanding inspection and positioning tasks. Data evaluation straight in the intelligent sensor provides the required results, e.g. OK/NOK, number of objects or position data, without the need for any additional processing unit. Basic profile data are determined with up to 5 µm precision in z and a reso-lution of up to 30 µm in x direction. Integrating these compact sensors featuring Power-over-Ethernet is extremely easy thanks to the wide selection of available interface options.
Web interface and live visualization for eased operation
As you would expect from Baumer, the compact OX series is very easy in operation and connection. The intuitive web interface allows for intuitive parameterization of up to 20 tools. The highlight: the measurement task is visualized live, allowing users immediate checks and parameter optimization.
